DThe Cross of Burgundy Flag was used by Spain as a naval ensign, and up to 1843 as a war flag on land. The banner dates back to the early 15th century when the Duke of Burgundy, as a claimant to the French throne, backed up the English in the Hundred Years War. When King Charles I ascended the throne, he adopted this flag in honor of his father Philip, the Duke of Burgundy. This is the flag carried by the conquistadors in their conquest of the Americas. During the reign of King Charles I from 1516 to 1556, Spanish interest in the new world increased. This brand new 3x 5 (91 x 152 cm) flag is screen printed with full color images and lighter reverse image on back. It is made of 100% durable lightweight super polyester fabric weighing approximately 4 to 6 oz. thus enabling flying in the slightest breeze. It is suitable for indoor use or for flying in light to moderate wind areas as well as in wet weather conditions. There are two rust-free brass grommets in the canvas header on the left side for easy mounting on flag poles or hanging banner style from ceilings or walls. It is machine washable and dryer safe with run resistant colors. We use 10 flag manufacturers in order to maintain our high quality of accuracy to detail and clearness of print. We will not lower our quality in order to compete on price alone. I have seen these flags as high as $18.00 in Florida and California.
